I was curious to see if any of Fry's employee's hung out here at anandtech. I would find it impossible if i was the only one. :)

My question is, do you find the every thursday v-con feel like brainwashing? I've ad several jobs before but a weekly 1 to 1.5 hr of watching a live talk by the owner is creeping the sh*t out of me. It feels like a damn brainwashing session everytime the guy talks...

so if there any other fry's employees out there, can you plz share your opinion?

thanks ^^

DainBramaged: yeah dude for real... >_<

BoldAsLove: lmfao, ive had that experience in Fry's in Arlington, the guy was playing the PS2 guitar game with me and was like...i'm helping the customer test the product hehe.
yeah i'll make sure that doesnt happen in store #44 Oxnard, CA

dakata24: not sure about other stores but in mine, everytime employees leave we have to say "ready" and raise out arms but there is no physical search invloved. we got 360deg colors cams that can see the time on your watch and incentives for reporting theft for that stuff so yeah there is none in mine

Fry's is a goddamn wasteland! Great prices on certain things but a serious roach motel for the poor souls who actually need help/advice. The Fry's in El Segundo/Manhattan Beach (CA) is the WORST one of all time. I used to think the Foutain Valley Fry's was bad until I moved to Redondo Beach. Blech.

So your calling me a liar? o_O

I did give a comment about the cameras , but people operate them so if someone gets past security it is most likely human error. This happens in all stores, we could strip search each and every person but it would not give the customers an enjoyable experience...so a loss is a loss and we call it a "shrink", which are all accounted for and to be expected by retail stores.

at least in fry's if we catch someone shoplifting, the loss prevention officers run after and tackle the shoplifters unlike other retail stores ive worked for that only let them walk away :D

never been to a Fry's, I live in the Midwest, dont think we have any here. But that weekly session with the owner does sound very creepy.
