My good friends fiance is a manager at a theater and they *used* to give them away all the time, but apparently the movie companies have been cracking down and getting pissed off at theaters for giving them away since they often wind up on ebay. Therefore at their theater they cant give them away anymore, not even employees. I think its owned by lowes. May just be the scare of the month though, or due to uptight upper managment who decides to enforce somethign they dont need to.

why? all they're going to do is throw the posters in a dumpster

heh who knows! I'll have to ask. maybe the upper managment just wants some ebay income on the side! :Q

At both the theaters I have worked at, all I had to do was ask the person who puts the poster up if I could have it when it was taken down. Neither of the theaters allowed the customers to have them. At the AMC I used to work at, every week when the old posters were taken down and new ones were put up, the old ones were put in the break room for anyone to have. Luckily, I worked during the day so I was able to snatch the ones I wanted early.

As for standees, I have an eight-foot tall Blade II standee. It's currently in the attic at the moment but used to be displayed in our living room.

my local theater puts a big slash in each poster when it goes up, I guess to keep people from asking for them

Interesting. Out local theater punches a few holes in them.

That's bitchy.

Yep, but they are so wrinkled who would want them.
