I'v e been looking for a digital camera and I've been extremely interested in this one (due tho http://reviews.cnet.com/Fujifilm_FinePix_F700/4505-6501_7-20857077.html?tag=pdtl-list that review )
What i've been mainly looking is something that doesn't have long shutter clicks because each time i talk to anyone about a digital camera that is one of the first things they bring up. That and the fact it'll take quick 640*480 videos with sound interests me (in taking quick things- i'm not looking at some digital camera or whatever) For now i'm more interested in point and click rather than get into all those nice features (perhaps later but for now i just want pix

But it had a caveat on the Image quality and how there are artifacts. Is this only at low resolution? If I consistently use medium to high resolutions will I be plagued? I noticed it had a problem with purple from the sun on the edge of the buildings but I don't think its that great of a deal anyway since my primary concern is shutter speed (Which this excels at it seems as compared to some others)....
that and i noe it sounds weird, but by chance any of you owners also use Linux I wanna noe if I can upload pics through linux without having to go through windows

I looked @ camera between 250-400 on the site with the highest rating first and I was lokoing @ spending about 300-350 and my main concern was shutter speed, tho i must admit the fact it could do 640*480 @ 30fps was an attractive prosposition to me)
