Anyone with Lite-On LDW-411s Experience ??

Montano

Lifer
Just wondering if this is a decent DVD/CD burning drive ?? Was looking at the Pioneer 106, but the Lite-On has much faster CD-R speeds.

There is a review floating around for the new 401s version that shows it flat kicks arse compared to some of these inflated name brand ones...The 401s is a dvd+r/+rw only...Is the 411 the -r/-rw added model???

The review was at www.storagereview.com I believe...

hehehe. Yes i'm anxious to hear about this drive too. It's quite reasonably priced for a 4x writer. And Lite-on rocks!

I just installed this drive in my Mom's computer. We are only using it to back up her 2 gigs of pictures and other stuff, but it worked flawless with that on Memorex 4X DVD-R media and took a total of 17 minutes to do on an old Dell Dimension 4200 1GHz/512 RAM. I really liked the software for data writing that came with the drive. It was very simple and easy to use for my 73 y/o mother.

Sorry she hasn't used it for more stuff so I could give a better review.

All I can say is WOW. This drive burned a full length movie in under 15 minutes @ 4x using Princo DVD-R media. Works great with Nero 6 😀
