Anyone with K7M + Athlon + SB Live Value getting lockups?

I´m trying to find out the cause for 3dMark2000
Lockups under Win98. The machine is an Athlon 600,
Asus K7M Mainboard and SB Live Value sound card.

The soundcard works fine in a different Celerey system, so I know it´s ok. The Lockups also occur
infrequently while gaming, but the 3dMark 2000 Loop is SURE to not go through even once!

Thanks in advance.

Well, I don't have the SBL Live Value, but rather the X-Gamer which I think is almost the same. But I have no problems here, runs great, most stable system I've ever owned.

Are you overclocking at all? Also, what bios version are you running, and what video card?

Are you using Liveware? Try using the standard drivers, at least it worked in my case

What makes you think it is the sound card? 3DMark doesn't play any audio during the benchmark.

I'm running the K7M with the SB Live! Value and a 550 overclocked to 800. Never a lockup. More likely the problem with 3DMark is video related.

first of all, thx for responding.

Here are the specs in detail:

600 Mhz Athlon
Asus K7M
IBM 20 Gb
LiteOn 40fach
Creative DVD Encore 3X
SbLive Value
128 Mb RAM (PC 133)
64 Mb RAM (PC 66)
Matrox G400 Shingle Head 16MB

The RAM and Soundcard have been tested on different systems. They are ok. The reason why I think it´s the soundcard is because if the card is removed, the system runs fine. It is not overclocked.
Power supply is 300W PS.
