I'm looking for a good fan to cool an Athlon XP 1900+ with the AX-7 that I'm going to get. I looked at the Thermaltake TT-8025 from Plycon Computers (http://www.plycon.com/fans.htm) and it looks great, quiet, 30 dbA, and good flow, 37 cfm. I was wondering if anyone else has this fan and what are their experiences with it?

It's just like any other 2900RPM 80mm fan. Just don't get the TT-8025T (Smart Fan). If your case is warmer the fan will run at higher RPMs and become more loud.

You know that Thermaltake's (Everflow) specs are false, right? They have been false ever since the "critically acclaimed" 60mm fan that was "quiet" and pushed an exorbitant amount of air.

I'd get a Panaflo H1 or Sunon 40CFM. Get a Papst if you can afford one.

I too have been duped by the specs on the Thermaltake fans. I just bought a TT-8025A, and let me tell you, it's not even close to being 30dBA. It's almost twice as loud as my Delta 60mm (28cfm), which is rated at 38dBA. I doubt their 37cfm rating as well, since I only got a 3 degree C improvement.

The only plus sides is that the fan came with a free 3 pin to 4 pin molex adapter and its own nuts and screws.
