i have the virusscan suite. epolicy orchestrator etc. I am going to install the virusscan programs on each pc. 50 of them. There is no domain and what I want to do is have one main server, windows 2000 server, download the updates from mcafee and distribute them to each pc. Do u know WHERE in the viruscan program i set it to grab the updates from the server pc? i ONLY SAW UPGRADE OPTIONS FOR FTP, LOCAL PATH AND UNC PATH, I couldnt search for computer names under the network.

basically im not sure if this viruscan suite by itself can do all this, or if i need eorchestrator policy installed.

Anyone have any tips?

I would consult the VirusScan Administrators Notes for 6. Updating and Upgrading VirusScan Updates.

If none of McAfees sugestions work, you can try a login script to make the updates. Since there is no domain, you would have to put the login script in everyones startup folder.

a far more eloquent answer...I think that was what I was trying to say...
see if I ever try posting after my bedtime again 😉
