Hi all,

begin pre-amble, skip if you don't want to read and can just do what I am asking

I just started a new job, and the company has offered to buy me any laptop I want in under $2,500 range. After reviewing all specs and options, I am now faced with choosing between Dell Inspiron 6000 (Dedicated Graphics model) and the Dell Inspiron 9300.

However, there is one issue that I must clear up before I choose the right one - the right resolution. The bulk of my work is production of web and print marketing materials, and although most of the stuff I design is for audiences with 1024x768 resolution, I need to have more space than 1024x768 on my screen for all of the toolboxes, pallettes, etc., in the authoring programs I use.

end pre-amble read

So, what I need are simple 1:1 desktop screen grabs (print screen -> paste into ms paint) of the following resolutions so that I can see how small/readable the desktop items, icons and text are. I need 1:1 screenshots, set at 96 dpi with the clear text option turned off of the following:

From the 6000 model:

15.4" display @ 1280 x 800
15.4" display @ 1680 x 1050

From the 9100/9200/9300 models:

17" display @ 1440x900
17" display @ 1920x1200

I am assuming that 1680x1050 will look MUCH smaller than 1280x800 since the resolution is so much higher, however, I just need to compare the two and see if 1680x1050 is readabale and not too hard on the eyes.

For those of you that have these laptops and are able to display at these resolutions, I would GREATLY appreciate if you could either post screen grabs of your desktops, or if you don't have hosting space please email them to me at digitalmarker@gmail.com.

Thanks in advance!

Im sorry about having no screen shots, but I am running an Inspiron 5150 with a 15" 1400x1050 screen.
The text may seem small for some, but I'm sure I could easily read a 1680x1050 of this size, maybe even a 1920x1200.

You can take a screen shot of your desktop by pressing the "Print Screen" button, pasting everything into MS Paint, and then email it to me? Thanks in advance.
