Anyone with Audi S4 (b6) experience

Just sold my car and am driving the Mrs. in the mean time.... which I have come to hate. If we trade or sell hers I will probably get a used Acura RL, Infiniti G35x, or S4.

The kid in me says S4 all the way, but I know with that engine the timing chain is in the rear which means an engine pull for replacement... anyone have experience with the B6 years and if/when I should expect to replace the chain / tensioners?
 
B6 was the start of the V8 correct? the timing chain on it is a mess. wonderful engine, horrendously complicated.

halik is (or is practically) a VAG mechanic, so he can provide input better than just about anyone else.
 
I would consider a 535xi/335xi but braking, acceleration, etc etc it seems like the s4 has the 335i beat... and there are like 10 335i's in our parking garage... I just see them everywhere and have been a bit burned out on them.

I would would like to keep it 14k-16k, which would be tough with the BMW

Still have the issue of losing mine the parking garage with all the others, and trying to hit the budget... I plan on just paying cash, I don't want to touch any additional savings or take a loan
 
Do not touch!

I researched them before getting my A4. The timing chains have a tendency to grenade and the repair is easily 10k. They revised the design and the B7 is fine, but the B6 S4 is notoriously troublesome.
