I'm about to pick up an Enermax Phoenix for my next system and I was wondering if there were any problems with CPU heatsink height before I buy both the case and the HSF from the same retailer.

I'm planning on using the Scythe Mine, which is 150mm tall, being used to cool a C2D E6600 or some such. From the specs of the case, it's supposed to be 200mm wide, so that leaves me some room, but I was wondering if the fans and motherboard and other whatnot got in the way...

so if anyone has a Phoenix case that's loaded with a mobo and CPU cooler, please chime in! It'd be even better if you could take some measurements, too.

you could get a similar XClio case that moves the big fan out of the way.

I checked out the XClio cases on NewEgg and while they are interesting (wtf a 360mm fan and a 250mm fan......), I don't think I'd be interested in having one of those cases sit under my desk. The main appeal of the Phoenix was aesthetics, then the fan.

Since apparently no one can help me with the measurements, I'm gonna shoot for the sky and hope a 150mm-tall heatsink will fit in this thing. If it doesn't work, I'll end up getting an SI-128 or something and changing the direction of the side fan air flow.

Just an FYI--the Tuniq Tower 120 (153mm tall) does not fit in the Enermax Chakra.

This HSF needs a good 7 inches (178mm) of clearance from the motherboard tray to the end of the HSF.

What I mean is that, if you put your ruler against the metal part of the case where the motherboard should mount, the ruler's 7-inch (178mm) mark would just barely clear the drive bays. So there's no way the case cover with its thick 250mm fan would fit with the Tuniq installed on the motherboard.

So add 25mm to your HSF height and then factor in an extra 15-20mm clearance between the case's side panel/fan.
