Just curious how well it works for y'all. I heard there is a 30 second delay to play mp3's initially and then a 2 second pause between songs. Just trying to get more info from people that have had the unit a while instead of short experiences of the product, i.e. the anand review... thanks

I have one in my car. The initial startup time (popping the cd in) is about 30 secs. Skipping between tracks and going to the next, it works flawlessly like any other cd player. Quality is great. I encode mine @ 160 and can't tell the difference over a regular cd at all. The H-Bass adjustment is awesome as well. Let me tell you, you will not regret $299 for it...

$300 is a heafty price, but what other choice do you have? Perhaps plugging an MP3 player into another head unit, but look how much that will cost total.

I don't wanna discourage greg from getting it, hell I was very close to buyng one myself, but cash became an issue so I couldn't. But people think that Aiwa is too new to the game to come up with a reliable deck, but that's just their opinion. I'd rather hear from people who have one (like you), cause I'm still very interested in one :)

I am waiting for the new Kenwood 828. It is a big improvement over the Z919 for many reasons. I saw it at CES and it looked pretty impressive. It is, unfortunately, just as expensive as the Z919, so be prepared to shell out some cash if you decide to pick it up.
