I am an unemployed college grad. I wanted to put my resume in .pdf format when I send it out, so that people on various platforms will be able to read it. I've had some trouble with older versions of word messing up the margins and whatnot, making my resume look pretty unprofessional. If anyone could help me out, I would really appreciate it.

thanks.

Thanks for all your help guys. Patch, I'll check that one out too. Bigsmooth, how do the files turn out? It says you lose options, like what kind of options do you lose?

thanks again.

TDP, basically you install Ghostscript like a PostScript printer in Windows and you can print stuff to it. Anything you print to it is turned into a static "printer file" (*.ps) format. You can then convert that into a *.pdf file using GSView which you can then open with Acrobat or whatever. It's just a static, uneditable version of whatever you originally printed but it works fine for that purpose. We have some software here at work that cannot output reports in Excel format so I use this method to e-mail stuff to people in pdf format.

well, I've learned alot of printing and postscript stuff, and could bore you to tears.
and that ghostscript stuff.

But pitstop, is a nifty plugin that allows you to edit the hidden postcript info of pdf's eps's and ps files.
that ps stuff is nasty code, all kind's of hidden stuff that'll make it show up funny when you send it to press.
