Anyone with a Sony G400?

I am currently planning on purchasing a g400 from a friend, for around $200. I understand it's a good 19" monitor, but prices in this area seem to be dropping, and maybe I should be pushing harder for a discount? Any of your advice, experience would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have had two. The first one started developing a problem with the pixels in the lower right corner. On a white background, they would be brownish. Returned it for another one. This one so far has been good.

But my experience from the first one taught me to only buy monitors at B&M stores. Buying stuff like that online (bought mine from MWAVE) is such a hassle if something goes wrong.

I got mine for around $450 with a major deal/discount about 1 1/2 years ago. It is truly a fantastic monitor. Best I have ever owned. I say go for it.

I paid around £470-480 for mine about 1½ years ago, so if you can manage to purchase one for $200 then I'd say its definitely a great deal.

I'd say the G400 is among one with the best image quality for 19" monitors, enjoy it 🙂

Tru degauss....

The G400 is awesome. I bought mine refurbed from ubid, and it has been great.... highly recommended.

Yet another VERY satisfied G400 owner. Bought mine about 4 mounths ago from Sams Club for $300. Great crisp picture. Like said earlier if no problems go for it. You'll be glad you did.

Thats a great price!. I might have to look if my local sams club has any. I already have a 2 year old G400 which is great!

I got mine last summer and it has been an amazing monitor. I am completely happy with it. I think I paid around 300 for it last june.

Sounds like maybe we got our monitors with the same deal (Gateway). That was my tax refund last year, hehe.

Anyway, I simply can't say enough good things about my G400. I was sitting back admiring it just this morning.

I love mine. 😀

I got it for $250 at Sam's Club in May. For some reason mine will run 1600x1200x75 Hz but gets rippling distortion when doing 1600x1200x85 Hz.

Eghk... i got mine for almost $400 a little more than a year ago. Oh well I could say it was worth it... had to bite the bullet because i didn't want to deal with shipping a monitor. 🙁

Hi BoYRaCeR,

What kind of celeron do you have on your CUSL2-C?
Is this the one with 256 cache 100Mhz bus?

How did you make it work in this motherboard?
I have the CUSL2. I wish I could upgrade my P3 933 to a Celeron 1.1A and o/c to at least 1.4Gz.
If it is a 100mhz bus chip I think that it could o/c 11x133=1463, huh.

Yep it's a Tualatin Celeron... i got it for $60 ... i'd say it's the best upgrade for that much money. If you don't mind hacking a few pins off a brand new proc... or if that's too much... you could coat them with something but that would take too long for me... then 133MHz is almost guaranteed for a 1.1A. PM me if you're interested... there's discussions of this in here and the overclockers.com forums... i'd be happy to help if you need it.
