Anyone With a Scanner Recommendation?

I'm considering obtaining a scanner for relatively basic document archiving/light text and graphics duty. The only hard constraint is that it has to be supported by Linux. Other than that I'm looking for pretty much the cheapest setup that won't produce ghastly output.USB2 is, naturally, preferrable; but other busses would be considered, if there is good reason.

Does anybody have recommendations?
 
I have a uper priced visioneer. Just bought my parents the canon 3000 from newegg for ~40 bucks and it is a fantastic scanner and the price is also.
