Problem hooking up the front audio ports. The Lian Li case comes with a 10 pin plug already prewired (#8 pin blocked) or 10 individual plugs.
Now the Gigabyte board shows in the manual either a pin layout for HD Audio or AC'97 Audio. The Gigabyte site lists the chipset as "Realtek ALC888 8 Channel Audio Codec"
I know the ground is right on the front on the case pinout and the PC boots up fine. As soon as I throw on the MIC pin plugs, the machine won't post.
HD Audio: AC'97 Audio
#1 = MIC2_L #1 = MIC
#2 = GND #2 = GND
#3 = MIC2_R #3 = MIC Power
#4 = -ACZ_DET #4 = NC
#5 = LINE2_R #5 = Line Out(R)
#6 = FSENSE1 #6 = NC
#7 = FAUDIO_JD #7 = NC
#8 = NO PIN #8 = NO PIN
#9 = LINE2_L #9 = Line Out(L)
#10 = FSENSE2 #10 = NC
If I look at the individual plugs on the case, they are labeled....
MIC-POWER (#3 right?)
MIC-IN (#1 right?)
GROUND (#2 right?)
L-OUT (#9 right?)
R-OUT (#5 right?)
L-RET (I don't know)
R-RET (I don't know)
Based on above, anyone see anything wrong? Like I mentioned, I hook up MIC-POWER, MIC-IN and GND and it won't post AND THEN I have to clear the CMOS and start over. If I just hook up the ground, it posts fine.
Any thoughts?
