Who the hell would actually pay for a service that is supposed to be free? on top of that, its not even like Naspter is storing the mp3s! They are all still just peer to peer downloads, meaning people can cancel at anytime and no resuming.

Looks like they are going to filter the copyrighted songs rather than membership fee.

they want to continue the free service and offer the membership service for copyrighted material too if i read the paper correctly. I personally would pay 10 or 15 bucks a month, that's still cheaper than one cd a month.

Man
After they start charging, SO MANY PEOPLE are going to stop using it therefore there will be a substantial CUT BACK on available contents.

I am not paying for something that will be worst than the current free service.
If it is going to have MUCH BETTER contents, then it might be a good idea to join, but HELL no, the contents THEN will be POOR and LIMITED.

Believe it or not, there are people (intelectually challenged) that will pay for Napster even though they can get the mp3's elsewhere for free

Sure I could get my music for free. I know about Napigator and all the other sources. I get paid for music though, so I'd prefer to have my music legal. I wouldn't mind at all if Napster made you pay a lil every month, then I could download stuff and it would still be legit.

Deeko - and how would they know if you got it off Napster or somewhere else? It ends up on a burnt CD anyway.

Couldn't tell ya, and I wouldn't like ever get in trouble for DJing with burnt music anyway, it's not like police come and check your stuff...but still...it's more of a mental satisfaction kind of thing :)

Why is it supposed to be free? Even though I have many mp3's, technically, it's stealing... bottom line.

Edit: One more thing, there's no such thing as "free" these days.

The only people who are gonna stay/pay for it (whatever the courts decide) are your averages Joes who don't know how to use anything else. Many people aren't aware of the many many other options (other P2P progs, FTP, IRC, etc.) I'm just getting into those myself.

Deeko, I wouldn't mind paying for napster either. But they want to charge for 128k mp3 files that I get from other people (do you have any idea how much ass 128k mp3's suck?) Not to mention the drastic drop in song selection. Now if they had cd quality rips on their own servers.....
