I went to this Japanese place in NYC that used to be an old Subway hanger that was converted into a resteraunt.

Does anyone know the name of that place? It's hard to find, but huge inside.

manhattan isn't really big but there;s a lot of sushi places, you need to specify which district, or at least if it's downtown, midtown or uptown

having been to many sushi places in NYC i never heard of one that used to be a subway station. that'd be cool if anyone knows about this place. i'd love to visit (if they have good sushi)

maybe it was sakagura? its underground, located in the basement of an office building?

its on 211 E. 43rd St. its on 43rd and 3rd ave.

Edit: They don't serve sushi though...but its great food...

Haru's sushi is a terrible representation of sushi - like claiming Taco Bell to be true mexican food

Try Japonais ... it's not the best, but pretty good

Masa is expensive as f*** but worth it

Nobu, well lol ... it's the 2nd most expensive place - but I've had better sushi in cheaper places

My personal fav is Blue Ribbon Sushi here in Brooklyn

My friends swear by Sushi Yasuda but I havent had the opportunity to be there yet

Did you get omakase or order off the menu? I can't imagine anyone getting omakase and thinking it was merely decent.

<--lived across the street from Gari.
