It has been suggested that I may want to try the NVMAX tweak for resetting my nvidia gf2 mx so I put it on my desktop ready to install but stopped because I'm not sure if it is okay to use with "Win ME". It doesn't list "ME" in the information file where I downloaded it from. Also, how do I find out what detonators I'm using? And how do I determin if I'm running in compatable mode? Thank You!!

NVMax works fine with me, or Win98, or Win2K:)

To find out what drivers you are running, installing nVMax and firing it up is the easiest, it tells you. It also will update your drivers for you, latest official or beta, and it does it properly.

I'm not sure what you mean by compatible modes, refresh rate? Resolution?

Ben,

Which ver. of NVMax should I use (with ME)? Also, when using it to install new drivers, will it save all the various video and appearance settings such as font size, desktop resolution, and OGL, D3d? Will it reinstall an older ver. over a newer?

You lose all your settings when updating drivers still, that is a Windows thing unfortunately:(

Yes, it will go back to older drivers no problem. However, some of the cool features only work with the latest(sometimes beta) drivers. For instance, the LOD slider only works with the Det4 drivers....

Which version, the latest. Every version of nVMax I have used has been better then the last, honestly:)

Thanks Ben.

Here's a strange one: I let the latest build of NVMax d/l and install 12.00, but now it indicates 11.01 as the installed driver, as does the NVdia cp. (shrugs) Anyway, Q3 seems a bit blurry with 11.01.

Ben,

I use W2K and XP almost all of the time but there is always that need (EASPORTS/LEGO) for Win98 it seems, just wish I could stay completely away but I have kids who still like games released five years ago or more. I hate even admitting I have ME loaded but it does save time in downloads compared to SE after a fresh install, the only positive I can think of right now. :)
