We’re currently investigating an issue related to the forum theme and styling that is impacting page layout and visual formatting. The problem has been identified, and we are actively working on a resolution. There is no impact to user data or functionality, this is strictly a front-end display issue. We’ll post an update once the fix has been deployed. Thanks for your patience while we get this sorted.
Try this. Open both docs. In the source doc do a Ctl-A followed by a Ctl-C. Go to the blank word doc and hit Ctl-V. If you're lucky the formatting will be preserved.
You could try this but types are rather limited unless your app can save to one of those.
To use it:
- download the executable file from the above link
- when the download finishes, execute the wp6rtf.exe file and it will install
- To open the .wps file, open Word
- Go to File - Open
- In the 'Files of Type' drop down box, scroll down to 'Works 6.0 (.wps)' or Works 4.0 (.wps) and select
- Now browse to the folder that contains the .wps files you would like to open
- The files should open normally
- At this point you can go to File - Save As and click the drop down 'Files of Type' button as before and choose Word Document (.doc) which should be the first choice.
try to get your hands on corel wordperfect. i think they were making it til not too long ago (maybe still are). and i think it might have been included on ibm's in the past (when they were trying to push other stuff than ms office).
would you happened to not have installed the converters for word? it's an option when you install it, to choose which things you want converters for.
also, is this a really old word perfect document? if so, i'm guessing ms word won't support it
