Anyone who buy Intel products are complicit in ethnic cleansing

It turns out that the Intel Pentium 4 Fab is built over the foundations of a Palestinian village, that was ethinically cleansed of Palestinians when they were driven out by force of arms in 1948, al-Faluja is or should I was the name of the village.

The simpla facts ar that Israel?s settlement policy and practices clearly contravene international law. Article 49, paragraph 6 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states that ?the occupying power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territories it occupies.? Moreover, the confiscation of land for settlement construction is in violation of the rules contained in the 1907 Hague Regulations protecting public and private property in occupied territory.

Therefore while the US govt is bankrolling the Israeli state to the tune of $25 billion a decade it is complicit in war crimes, itself. Also we mustn't forget as well as breaking the Geneva convention Israel is refusing to comply with 2 UN security council resolutions, regarding the right of refugees to return home (there are currently arround 4 million Palestinians in refugee camps & some have been there over 50 years) & regarding the return of lands & homes stolen from there rightful owners. Now when you consider the US policies of pushing for sanctions & embargos against such places as South Africa, Serbia & Iraq, yet using its veto powers to block every sanction & embargo resolution that has come up in the Security Council against Israel, its no wonder that Arabs reffer to the US as the 'land of hypocracy' & don't consider it an honest broker of peace.

Are Americans proud that the US is complicit in war crimes?

Same goes with many wars the US has been in. I think they are just ignoring the facts because they dont belive their country could do such a thing. Sorry to say but its called brainwashing at very young age (patriotism).

I'm just waiting for the middle east to pop. I pray to God that it doesn't happen but there is too much built up anger and it has to be let out. I'm affraid things like the intel fab only ads to the building up of the hate.

The US has always loved Israel. Why? I don't really know. I think we should stop supporting them so much, as it really pisses off other middle-eastern countries.

Oh, and saying that I have something to do with that 1948 event is nonsense. I had nothing to do with that situation. Intel really had nothing to do with the ethnic cleansing.

By your same logic, anyone who buys a VW supports concentration camps. I mean, in the early 40's, the Jews were nearly wiped out under Hitler's regime. THe VW plant was started by Hitler himself. So obviously all VW-owners are anti-semitic.

"Oh, and saying that I have something to do with that 1948 event is nonsense. I had nothing to do with that situation. Intel really had nothing to do with the ethnic cleansing."

That's like Japan using thousands of acres of rainforest timber to make disposable chop-sticks & then saying they aren't responsable for the destruction of the Borneo rainforests, even though the logging mills are owned by Japanese corporations using corporate welfare to bribe local politicians to get arround enviromental laws. By settling on stolen land Intel are complicity in its theft just as receiving stolen property (for instance a car) makes you complicit in its theft. That's why 'receiving' is against the law, its also why the possesion of 'Goods in custody (suspected of being stolen or otherwise unlawfully obtained)' is also against the law.

"By your same logic, anyone who buys a VW supports concentration camps. I mean, in the early 40's, the Jews were nearly wiped out under Hitler's regime. THe VW plant was started by Hitler himself. So obviously all VW-owners are anti-semitic."

But Germany & VW have already paid restitution & been punished for the're war crimes. Israel has not been punished & has not paid restitution for its war crimes, also until Israel stops deporting Palestinians & stops land confiscations & settlement building its still committing war crimes. So that analogy doesn't work.

You live in australia. You have no idea what goes on, yet you insist on taking a side in a matter of which you know nothing about, although you think you do.

I can't stand self righteous people.

So Loogie, you deny that Israel has broken the Geneva Convention (Article 49 paragraph 6) & the 1907 Hague Convention & as such was & still is commiting war crimes?

Do you also deny that Israel refuses to obide by United Nations Security Council Resolutions 242 & 465, & as such it's hypocritical for the US to veto sanctions & embargos against Israel?

Do you also deny any of the facts regarding the Intel Fab being built on ethnically cleansed land?

"You have no idea what goes on, yet you insist on taking a side in a matter of which you know nothing about, although you think you do"

Well I do know that Israel is breaking the Geneva convention & thus is committing war crimes & that the US govt is complicit, as they are backrolling Israel to the tune of $25 billion a decade (if I added the direct& indirect contributions from corporate America & its citizenry it would probably by $100 billion a decade).

If you disagree, well then educate me on why.

Look at what Israel has to deal with, rock-throwing savages who gang-beat and burn people. They are raising killing machines. Did you see the picture of little boy who was being cheered after he raised his blood-stained hands?

So Mosdef, what would you do if a bunch of foreigners coveted your country & your home & by force of arms evicted you, your family & your friends from your from your homes & forced you all to grow up in a refugee camps, while your homes were given to immigrants?

The simple fact is that Palestinians have just as much right under international law to kill Israelis that are occupying their lands as the French underground had to kill occupying Germans.

IMAO, considering what the average Palestinian has had to put up with (even after Oslo), the Palestinians showed remarked constraint. The average Westerner & especially the average American, wouldn't even be able to conceive how to cope with what they had/have to put up with under occupation.

Why the hell would Intel build an expensive factory in one of the most dangerous countries on earth? What better symbol of American pro-Israel support than a huge computer-related factory...why not just paint a huge target on it?

I am no expert on MIddle-East affairs so if anyone knows what they were thinking I would love to know!

The reason we western people build factories in the third world is because of cheap labor, nothing else.

The answer's simple CinderElmo, corporate welfare, you can bet that a good part of that $25 billion that the US govt bankrolls Israel with every decade, is made up of investment subsidies (corporate welfare), in other words your taxes probably paid for a good percentage of that Intel Fab.

Ethnic cleaning is K3WL!!! Go Intel GO!!!!

Actually, I'm surprised that he doesn't demand a boycott of all American products due to the shabby treatment the Native Americans (Injuns, Casino-Owner-Americans) got in the 19th Century.

Dabanshee the world is a relatively small place that has had people on it for a relatively long time. There are probably few spots that have not had terrible things happen on them. If the village was destroyed for the sole reason of builing the fab plant there, then you would have a point. However, I may be wrong, but I dont' think that was the driving force behind the destruction of it.

I don't think that's the point; rather that Israel is not only occupying palestinian territory, they are also building on it and moving in on those areas. I don't think they will hand over those settlements or that factory once they give that land back (if that ever is going to happen)

DABANSHEE: You quote The Register. What a joke. Biased sensationalism. The National Enquirer of the IT Industry. Long known as Intel bashers.

Would you also snivel about the fact that AMD's Fab 24 in Austin, Texas is built on land formerly controlled by Mexico? Land seized by force.

Intel Chairman Andy Grove was raised Jewish in Hungary. Does this have anything to do with the fact that Intel built a Fab in Israel? Or maybe because economics had a role in the decision. You know it's cheaper to hire Palestinian labor and pay them $30.00 a day to work in a clean room. Additionally, they earn three times as much at the Intel Fab as cleaning toilets in an Israeli hotel.

Oh Yeah......... Care to enlighten us all about the Redfern suburb of Sydney? Or the forced relocation of Aborigines, "the lost generation", by the Australian government?

Here's a snip from an interesting article in the July 6, 2000 edition of the Washington Post you might enjoy

In the following years, the settlers regarded the Aborigines as little more than pests that needed to be driven away or killed. On the island of Tasmania, colonists killed so many Aborigines that the indigenous population was wiped out by 1876. Aborigines did fight back in a low-grade guerrilla war, but their spears and other traditional weapons were no match for the settlers' horses and guns. Those who survived eventually were confined to fenced reservations, often in the most inhospitable parts of the Outback.

Same principle. The Americans are as guilty as the Australians who are as guilty as the Germans who are as guilty as the Israeli's who are as guilty as the Russians.

I'm so f*cking tired of these threads. Stop it...take your stupid war to another place make a homepage or so. This is stupid. What we have here is a sad sad story, and why they can't agree on things I don't know, but they are all human beings, and every day puts more people in the graves.
