I live by the highway the noise from my computer fans help block the traffic.

I stuck a screw driver in my thermaltake volcano 11.

All I need is the Fan I am fine with this heat sink.

Whats the best fan out there?

80 x 80 x 37 mm

No greater then 37 unless it comes with screws long enough. Lol

Thanks for the help!

Well, if you want the fastest, that'd be a vantec tornado 80mm, it's larger than 37, but just put hte screws in at the bottom. Note, this is the loudest fan out there (vacuum cleaner loud), but it does move a lot of air. If you want a better noise/performance ratio, look at some normal 80mm fans. This Antec is a nice adjustable one.

If you look around, I got a Sunon for a little cheaper than the Tornado. I think Sunon OEMs the Tornado. Have you ever heard one? If not, rest assured you will be suprised just how loud loud can be. Invariably your next purchase would be a fan controller.:)

+1 vote for tornado....you may want to pick up a vantec nexus fan controller or a rheobus capable of harnessing and supplying power to the tornado. Trust me, it will be unbareably loud without a controller. (i have 4)

I went shopping at a local PC shop named "comp1.com"

In addition to the Zalman, which i was surprised, the pictures & reviews i'd seen
didn't do it justice, it's BIG.

there was this big ass red-painted fan, bigger than 80 x 80. more like 4 1/4 inches
square, what's that, 25.4 x 4 plus a few, 110 mm maybe.

they were asking $30.

i forget the numbers for thermal resistance. the one time i looked it up, the
zalman's were the best, the copper zalman's. but i guess they do take a
lot of space. i could see it bumping into a graphics card on some motherboards.

THe tornado is the fastest spinning, highest CFM, and loudest fan you can get... although the deltas are pretty fast as well.
