Anyone wear a titanium ring?

Figured out I'm allergic to 14 carat gold (molybdemun is supposedly the problem with gold allergies)

Anyway, i looked @ platinum rings (too shiny), finally settled on a titanium wedding ring, they had to order it, (damn tiny fingers make it almost impossible to buy an off the shelf ring) won't have it for a few weeks.

Can't find a decent pic of one that even looks like it, it's sculpted with a front & back, with 18k gold accents (on the outside).

Anyone else have titanium ring?

my friend has a titanium wedding ring, it's really lightweight. I prefer the gold honestly. bling bling.

Sounds awesome, I'd like to see a pic if you find one somewhere

I'm allergic to gold as well, and I was looking at some titanium rings with the woman. It's the thing we really agreed on with regards to the wedding.

i have one. comfort fit as well.. just a plain band wide band. i don't know how ppl wear rings that aren't comfort fit. heh

the only thing is, it has gotten scuffed up quite a bit... didn't take more than a day 🙁

I have a titanium wedding ring. Dont ware it often (cant at work).
But I like it. I got a titanium ring for believe it or not, the weight. It is a lot lighter than a gold ring. Heavy rings bother me.......
Not into the "bling bling" look so the natural look of titanium apeals to me.

oh man, its all about the comfort fit. my fiancee just bought me my ring last week, white gold with a comfort fit. I got her a white gold, just regular, but one that she picked out last summer. the comfort fit makes it so you don't feel like you're wearing it at all. I hate stuff on my hands and wrists and I usually take off my watch during the day, and the ring didn't bother me at all. don't get to wear it till next May tho 🙁

I've never heard of anyone being allergic to gold before!

wow, really? there's plenty of ppl who are. Some are just allergic to non pure stuff, like 10/14k... too many impurities. My cousin can only wear sterling silver pretty much, and probably titantium/plat.

One of the things to take into consideration is, if you should have anything happen to your finger that would cause swelling and would need to remove the ring, the titanium can be hell to cut through should it need to be removed. I have heard of this happening and it usually turns into quite the ordeal.

lots of people are allergic to gold to gold, i know a few

im not i just dont like the way it looks,

I have a titanium wedding band. I love it. It won't dent or get beat up to hell.

My 10K white gold college ring is beat to hell.

I've never heard of anyone being allergic to gold before either, I have heard of those that are allergic to nickel though.

Yeah, it is sort of strange, my stupid finger looked as if I'd been bitten by an insect for ~1 year before I gave up. Actually my wife started noticing & just took my ring away from me... It cleared up, I don't know if it's nickel, moly, or gold that I'm allergic to, but it sucks...

Gold allergy rate is 9.5% - Dermatology
OB/GYN News, June 1, 2002 by Sally Koch Kubetin

Gold is a more common allergen than previously recognized, according to a recent study of more than 4,000 patients, Dr. Steven R. Cohen said at a dermatology symposium sponsored by Mount Sinai School of Medicine.

Dr. Cohen, deputy chair and professor of dermatology at the school, reported that among 4,101 patients subjected to patch testing by the North American Contact Dermatitis Group, an unexpected 9.5% had a positive test result to gold sodium thiosulfate (Am. J. Contact Dermat. 12[1]:3-5, 2001).

Gold ranks only sixth among the most common allergens. Women accounted for 90.2% of patients positive to gold but for only 62.8% of the subjects tested.

The most common sites of allergic dermatitis due to gold were the hands, face, and eyelids. Think of gold allergy as a possible cause for an unexplained facial dermatitis, Dr. Cohen advised.
