He just ejected Tim Duncan for laughing on the bench.

The NBA needs to fine his ass. He's always been a quick trigger when it comes to technical fouls.

LOL I am a die-hard Mavs fan and that was some BS. There's no way he should be reffing in the playoffs.

I just saw that too. That's just ridiculous! What's funny is the guy next to Duncan laughed at the call too. And then the subsequent foul that should've been on Howard. Awful officiating...

Duncan gets away with nearly as much complaining as Kobe. I hope they are targeting him so that he stops his whining.

What BS! The Spurs needed this game and the Mavs didn't. With Duncan in no way they left Dallas get back in it that easily.

It's all good though, this year they won't squeak like last time with a weak Ginobili foul in Game 7. That, or the Suns will take care of them in 6.

weak meaning it wasn't a foul or weak meaning Ginobli is an idiot for committing it?

Weak meaning it wasn't much of a foul. Ginobili was still an idiot for committing it.

LOL did you watch it? It was blatent across his arms as he went to the rim. Stupidest foul ever. You know how the NBA refs call the end of games. You have to MAKE them call something, and Ginobli did. Anyways, I am hoping for another Mavs-Spurs matchup this year. I am gonna be the biggest Spurs fan ever when they are playing the Suns.

And apparently Crawford wants to take Timmy 1 on 1 .... "Do you want to fight?"

little guy syndrome, I guess - seems as if he has something to prove, which doesn't help his "Duncan is a whiner" case

I know this is a bump but whatever.

Was watching the highlights after the Suns game and all I can say is WTF. He was talking to a teammate not even Crawford. They said Crawford has been an official for 30+ years, what the hell is wrong with him?

There's nothing wrong with him, there's simply no accountability whatsoever in the sports world. Refs, umps, writers, whoever, can be blatantly wrong as often as they want and not a thing happens to them.

If you could enforce rules at work arbitrarily and with no need for logical basis of any kind, you'd do it too.

Yea I agree with you 100%. At least in football they have challenges. Also he knows with 30 years experience he's gonna be pretty well protected.

I also just read that Pop is going to the league about the situation, and asking them (formally) to review. It is possible that Duncan getting tossed cost SA the game, and a lot of people are pissed about that....

Some people have a different definition of whining. As far as I can tell Kobe and Duncan simply voice their complaints regularly in a respectful manner and always relating to a play that recently happened. Whining would be rasheed wallace type stuff, any time he's called for anything he goes on a tirade that involves stretching the pits of his shirt.

Update - Crawford suspended!

linky

NEW YORK (AP) - NBA referee Joey Crawford was suspended indefinitely by commissioner David Stern on Tuesday for his conduct toward Tim Duncan, who contends the ref challenged him to a fight.

Crawford ejected Duncan from a game in Dallas on Sunday, calling a second technical foul on the San Antonio Spurs star while he was on the bench.
"He looked at me and said, 'Do you want to fight? Do you want to fight?"' Duncan said. "If he wants to fight, we can fight. I don't have any problem with him, but we can do it if he wants to. I have no reason why in the middle of a game he would yell at me, 'Do you want to fight?"'

Crawford's suspension will last at least through the NBA finals.
