Anyone watching the Frontline episode about "Tank Man"?

Although it focuses mainly on the man that stooped the tanks in China in 1989, it also deals with some pretty disturbing facts about modern day China, it's economy and what drives it as well as Internet censorship helped along by Yahoo, Google and others.

With I.P. address's supplied by Yahoo, there are people doing 10 years for breaking censorship rules in China.

Pretty disgusting stuff.

Tank Man

I saw about 1/2 of the show earlier.

Talk about hard work for some of those textile workers, 12 hrs a day, 7 days a week, and all that for about $125 a month.

the part where they took those 4 university of beijing students and asked if they knew anything about the picture. 🙁

that was totally surprising. a generation that should know about it and be a part of the rise against the regime since the capitalism is making such a strong surge had no clue what they were looking at.

Yep, saw it earlier.

And I can't believe there are people who think the Tank Man got away. Maybe some people rushed him off the streets but I am sure he was detained shortly there after.

Thats the water you tread on when you deal in international business. Different laws, cultures, rules, etc. Sucks that some of our most prided companies are bending over and taking the chinese cack for $$$.

I wonder when a Chinese revolution will come, maybe when they realize they're getting information shafted, or do they know and just don't care.

The whole show was about a failed revolution. It didn't work out to well in 89. The next one will probably never happen.

Wasn't really about tank man; they just used that to weave a theme.

I never realized the massacres were before and after the early morning finale.
