the iDVD looks pretty cool - you can burn movies to dvd similar to the iMovie program. The new g4s will come with pioneer dvd writers in systems under $3500.

OS X will include cd-writing software - so long toast.

The dual 700ish G4 whips the P4 in photoshop 6 benchmarks - no surprise, so does the Athlon and Duron.

Overall, it looks like some pretty cool stuff is on the drawing board... can't wait till it all comes out for the PC. ;)

I wish the keynote address was broadcast in Windows Media Player. I am getting so sick and tired of Quicktime. It sucks for live broadcast streaming.

One thing I'm getting annoyed with is the Photoshop benchmarking Apple always does when comparing a PowerPC to a Pentium. We all know that Photoshop on the Mac is highly optimized for the PowerPC chip... so, of course it's going to be faster than Photoshop on a Pentium! But, that's one thing I've come to expect from Apple: biased reporting.

I am sick of all the Apple weenies bashing the PC at MacWorld. The day you can go out and assemble a Mac for < $1000 is the when I even give their stupid bashing an ounce of thought.

733Mhz processor, wow. Even is the PIII is not RISC based we can burn them on sheer Mhz alone. Tell me a 733 PPC chip is going to outbench a 1.4Ghz x86 chip that costs 1/2 the price, in anything other than Photoshop.

At least they stopped making Life Savers colored computers.

That DVD Superdrive sounds intriguing, I'm curious as to how that works. But it's not like Pioneer will only sell to Apple. If they have such a device, they're going to want to sell to more than the handful of people that use Macs. Besides, unless it's Firewire, it'll be IDE or SCSI (probably IDE, not many Macs use SCSI anymore do they?) so it'll be no time til you can slap one in a PC.

The "megahertz myth" that Jobs keeps trying to sell cracks me up. There was one line where the presenter said "based on the numbers (33% faster in photoshop), we'd have to call our dual 733 system a 2 GHz system." The funny thing is that mac geeks believe this stuff, but the majority of the computer buying public doesn't. Then again, most people think the 1.5 Ghz P4 is the fastest computer on the planet.
