I watched Kevin Smith's new series for the first time last night and it was kind of interesting, but I'd still be surprised if it draws enough fans to survive.

It basically revolves around the Jay & Silent Bob's Secret Stash comic book store, and then a podcast that Kevin Smith does with the owners/employees of the store.

Really geeky, but some good one liners during the podcast sections.

Not even watching it to see a preview of next weeks Walking Dead.

Comic book men is one of the most boring shows I have seen in a long, long, long time.

Aren't Jay & Silent Bob fictional characters (not the actors) in a fictional movie? I don't understand the premise of the show. It's a podcast that the director Kevin Smith does with fake people who work in a fake store?

Edit: I just read wikipedia and Kevin Smith actually owns a real store named that. I had no idea.

Dumb da-dumb dumb dumb....saw a bit of it last night and it was really dumb, seriously they need to stop making reality shows out of stores of any kind, it's just, well, dumb

Mind exploding logic inconsistency there!

But I agree that it is not likely to survive and I was wondering what possessed AMC to produce this series.

Reality tv shows have been a hit in the past, combined with the superhero movies coming out in 2012, AMC was hoping to cash in.

Who would have known that a show about storage locker actions would be a hit. Who would have known that finding big foot is the animal plant top show.

The question I would ask nit knowing anything about the back end of the show right now, is whether AMC is producing it or whether Kevin Smith is bankrolling the show and simply buying the timeslot n AMC, which I would think jives more with his personality currently.

I've actually been curious whether or not this is any good. I've typically enjoyed Kevin Smith's "stand-up comedy" (they're really Q&A sessions) DVD releases.

I enjoy it. Comic book nerds, a mentally retarded asian, and an old guy who seems like he works there but doesn't. I'm not a comic book fan, but there are some interesting parts with items/customers.
At least it involves real people, not dumbasses "looking" for a mythical creature.
