anyone watching?? they did a segment on vodka and how everyone thought Grey Goose was the bomb.

blind taste test and turns out Grey Goose was the $hittest vodka out of the group. beaten by a $12 bottle of Smirkoff. lol.

Grey Goose teh suck for $30/bottle. 😀

There are a lot of things out there that the commodity brand is higher quality than the high priced stuff. Thirty years ago Smirnoff was thought of as the best vodka in the world.

Hell, in the early 80's Smirnoff was about as good as it got.

In his book, The Only Investment Guide You'll Ever Need, Andrew Tobias says that you can save money buy buying cheap vodka and dumping it into an empty bottle of the more pricey stuff. Says people can't tell the difference, unlike other cheap and expensive alcoholic beverages.

I saw the piece as well.

All of the drinkers were poseurs. They drank Gray Goose and other premium vodkas for the brand value alone.

They're probably not acclamated to good vodka. Like beer, vodka is an aquired taste. To someone who drinks nothing but domestic kiddie swill, a premium imported lager usually tastes "skunky," or has a "nasty aftertaste."

The reporter touted the savings in buying cheap booze, but he didn't explain that cheap booze (and cheap mixers) leads to a worse hangover.

i viewed that too, who has a vodka shot? i never have. in mixed drinks i feel that grey goose is smoother than stoli and ketel one and it is not a $$ thing or a status thing as i usually would rather have a drink at home anyway. i would much rather pay less but if i am going to drink then it may as well be the best for me.

How did they test it? Did they spit it out or did they swallow? You have to swallow vodka to fully test its quality. Most of the experience for cheap vodka is in the after taste

they swallowed😱

it was not a true scientific test, just 5 people in a bar and who knows if they even knew anything about drinks, for all we know they were probably the producers friends and he got slipped some serious $$$ by the other manf to throw grey goose off the top, who knows

i thought the art part was better

haha, It might be any 5 guys that wanted free shots then. I personally don't even like grey goose and smirnoff is crap, but I'm not much of a vodka guy. I like gin.

it was probably warm

grey goose and belvedere vodka great, although smirnoff is easy to drink as well (when compared to crap brands)
