Anyone watch the writer-less Daily Show and Colbert Report?

They ditched the "reporter in the field" sketches but Stewart and Colbert's monologues were both surprisingly good. Stewart's guest last night was clearly terrified of saying ANYTHING bad about the WGA, and I didn't watch Colbert's guest, but besides the awful interviews, the rest of the show was pretty damn good for being unscripted.

It wasn't too bad actually, however, it wasn't up to the usual standard that they were prior to the strikes. Would I still watch it? Of course! It just wouldn't be as good as it used to be, nor would it be on as often without the writers. They do good work.

In my opinion, the field reporters are what makes the Daily Show funny. I caught part of it, and he seemed to be pretty close to calling the WGA a bunch of whiny babies (and made fun of them for overdramatizing their plight with the somber ads and numerous celebrities taking up their cause). Most of his opening thing was stupid though.

I didn't watch Colbert, though, but I find his show to be much better than the Daily Show.
