Lets look at the history shall we?

This is not the first time OKSt has collapsed like that, they did the same thing in 2004 and 2005.

OSU chokes like that every time they play texas. When they were up by 21 in the first half I still called the loss.

I laughed out loud when I heard this story. It's so damn pathetic of OSU to just collapse like that. Same with Michigan State. Haha!

yeah so i'm bumping this a few days later, but i'd just like to say i hope we (texas) hire major applewhite to be our o-coordinator at the end of this season. davis is awful and makes 0 adjustments throughout the game. our play calling is awful and most of our good plays are a result of colt improvising. we definitely didn't deserve to win that game (even with a few questionable calls by the hometown refs), but we got lucky that ok state blew a few of those blitzes to let jc through and switch to 6th gear. ok state should fire some coaches too. they went away from their offensive gameplan and broke the cardinal rule of playing not to lose instead of playing to win. and i seriously think there was some devine intervention with that ok state field goal. that thing was going straight then out of no where curved to the right just at the right time.

colt just hasnt been in freshman form thsi entire season. i understand that for the first few games, he had TERRIBLE o-line protection. for the few games afterthat, he was jittery in the pocket, which is excusable when taken into account all the beating's he's taken. THEN, when things got more stable up front, starting around just before the oklahoma game, i saw him flushed from the pocket when he wasnt rushed.
cant be complacent because colt makes a few lucky scrambles or jc busts a few big runs against poor teams.

greg davis needs to leave for calling so many screen passes (colt is a drop-back qb, not a VY). chiles needs some major playing time.. and to be fully utilized, not just as a decoy. every snap he's taken = same play. vondrell mcgree should be used for his north-south power running, because JC's style doesnt work well with a poor line. at least have them be used as complimentary backs.

and last of all, fire greg davis!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well at the beginning of the season colt got the crap knocked out of him every single game so now it's understandable why he is a little quick to leave the pocket when there is pressure. we need a new o-line coach or something because they have no idea how to pick up blitzes. the formula for beating texas = blitz every play on defense and do play action on offense. harris must be hurt pretty bad because at the beginning of the season the plan was to use him in a tim tebow role. i can kind of understand why they aren't using chiles as much these days since he is a freshman and they shouldn't trust his passing abilities.

and on another note, they need to come up w/ some formations where jc is in the slot. he should be used exactly like they used ramonce during the 05 championship season. he would be completely unstoppable then. hell, they need to put in a formation where jc and mcgee are on the field at the same time. that would give d-coordinators more than a few headaches.

harris got a little scuffed up in training hence chiles with the burnt redshirt. the other thing about JC & O-line is that hes not as good of a blocker.. which is okay, use McGee to pick up blitzes and JC as a Mike-Goodson-Reggie-Bush type of player (JC's speed would be awesome in the slot and hes already caught long passes like you said)

but still...that davis guy... i want his shrunken head on a pike!

Didn't watch the game, but was UT's defence as bad as the score suggested? The Horns have barely defeated average teams, and lost to good teams . . .

the defense isn't "bad" -- just susceptible to "big" plays cause of the inexperience. the defense shut ok state out for most of the 2nd half, and most of nebraska's points came from 2 deep passing plays.

as for the losses...1 play would have put the ou game in our favor. everyone points to the k state game saying we got blown out but the score isn't reflective of the game. they had an int, kickoff, and punt return for td. take those out and we win the game. it's not as if they dominated us in every phase of the game from start to finish. either way, a loss is a loss.

jc isn't the best blocker, thats why ogbonaya is on the game during most obvious passing downs. if jc wants to make it to the NFL he's really going to have to get better in pass protection (and towards the end of the ok state he did a fairly good job).
