Anyone watch the HBO Undercover drug addict documentary?

HBO always does a great job, but this one was really powerful. Basically, the tracked the life of several drug addicts in NYC. Very touching and sad, probably one of the most powerful anti-drug segments I have seen, with not one word of commentary needed to convey the message

Yes, and the drug war has done sooo much to save them from themselves, right? I'm sure it's moving, but if anything I would think that it would inspire people to want change and reform in the way we deal with illicit drugs, not just an escalation of the same failed plan we've been on...

It wasn't about the drugs you smoke eli 😀 It was mostly about crack and heroin addicts...
And if using crack and heroin isn't the user's choice, then why do we lock up users for doing crack and heroin?

Where did I say anything about choice? Did you even see the program?? The addiction and lives they led was horrific, I'm not saying the drug war is right or wrong, all I'm saying is that it was very sad to see how these people live, many of which I see on a daily basis and don't think twice about.

Yeah, I can understand that I guess... but I don't agree with the whole anti-drug thing, at least not for the same reasons the government does.

I do agree that it's a grey area.. the harder drugs that is. But the reality is that education and wholesome upbringing is the key to drug use prevention, not lies, propaganda and punishment.

The people need help. Not ridicule.

HBO does good documentaries, what was the name of it?

I find the drug ones highly humerous and entertaining.
