Wow anyone watching this? Awesome match. Three consecutive tiebreaks. Johansson with something like 35 aces so far. Unforced errors 50 Johansson to 7 Agassi. And the match is about as dead even as you can get.

Edit: Agassi v Federer match on ESPN2 now!

Edit2: Safin gets through a shaky start to win 3 straight sets and take the championship away from home favorite Hewitt!

Agassi pulls out the win in the 4th set with two breaks to Johansson's one.

What an awesome match. And I think the final count for Johansson was 51 aces.

Once again Agassi proves experience > young power. But I think Federer is going to rip him a new one next game :(

WTF? He still has plenty of game; he's just not in the elite stratosphere occupied by Federer.

I thought I heard one of the commentators say the other day that Agassi had dropped at least ten pounds in the offseason too in order to increase his court mobility. I think that'll help his long rally/control style game. And the win against Johansson shows that he still has an answer for the younger players with cannons for serves. However, I still think Agassi's got to do more with his serve. If Johansson can whale away at his first serves, imagine what Federer can do...

Agassi vs Federer quarterfinal match about to start. Live on ESPN2.

I hope Agassi gives him a good run and makes it a close match.

Agassi is one of the best tennis players ever. Just look at how long he's been playing for. Other greats have come and gone in half the time and Agassi is still there and still kicking butt.

Yes, his longevity is a testament to his fitness. I'm afraid there are too many young-guns for him to win anymore slams though. Though, as long as he enjoys playing, I shall continue enjoy watching him.

Great championship match and congrats to Safin. Although I still think the best match of the Australian Open was Safin vs Federer in the semis. That 5-set nailbiter was awesome.

for longevity i'd say Conners has it over Agassi. i don't remember if conners won all 4 grand slam titles tho.

yes, agassi definitely ranks among the all time greats. but at their peaks, sampras was definitely the better tennis player.

Oh thank god. If I had to hear Hewitt shouting 'COME OOOOOOOON!!@!' one more time I would have killed myself.

Ha-ha! That annoying punk gets on my nerve too :D Though, many say he's the modern day incarnation of Jimmy Connors.

I'm glad Marat won

Connors won 8 slam singles titles, 5 US Opens, 2 Wimbledons, and 1 Australian Open. He never won the French. I think he played on the main pro circuit until he was 41 :Q. I doubt anyone else could.
