why is it that the facemask against kentucky on the blocked FG didnt count because it was an offensive penalty in OT, but the unsportsman like conduct did against tennessee after the failed 2pt in the 3rd? not that it changed anything, i just dont understand the difference. was it because its a dead ball foul? if so, one could make the argument that the opposite should be true since a dead ball foul truly doesnt affect the play, but a live ball foul obviously does

The face mask was still during the period of play (OT), as such it is not enforced because it occured before the end of the period.

The unsportsman conduct occured between periods and is enforced on the next period.

My heart goes out to the Cats. They've had a really good season and SO many games against top notch teams decided by just a few points. The Cats had so many opportunities to win that game, just like Georgia and Florida. I'm exhausted after watching that game and my hands are killing me from clapping so hard.

Actually, in the second OT, the foul was committed after a change of possession (recovered blocked FG). That is ignored while the other occurred during the play. They got it right but it is a crap rule.

That was a great game. I only watched from the final drive for Kentucky in the 4th quarter...and i felt like i watched a whole game. lol. I didn't like the outcome, but it doesn't matter that much to me. I'm usually just an underdog guy.

Great game, but horrible circumstances for me watching it. First, I was watching it with an 18-year-old UT fan sitting across the room who acts completely stupid at every single call, jumping up and down and insisting on saying over and over what he thinks was the right call (although he's usually wrong). Plus, he's never lived in any other state besides KY, and his family is from IN.....why are you rooting for UT again?

Anyway, come about the first OT, the rest of the family gathered (we were having Thanksgiving dinner) to see what the commotion was all about, so now I was watching it with a bunch of idiots who know nothing about football. To give a couple of examples, my mother-in-law exclaimed, surprisingly, at one point at the beginning of the 3rd OT, that the game was tied (no shit). Also, I believe that through the 4 OT's, that the question, "How much time is left?" was asked atleast 6 times by varying people.

On top of that, UK lost :(.
