*spoiler alert*

Wanted to confirm a point--how does Dollarhyde choose his victim families? I guess I didn't watch carefully enough, is it only because he had access to their home videos? I asked someone who had watched Manhunter and was told the families were chosen because the women had undergone some kind of change (hair color), just as Dollarhyde wanted to achieve---but I didn't notice this mentioned in Red Dragon

Ok, I just finished watching it. Damn good movie I must say. I will highly recommend it.

***WARNING REALLY BAD SPOILER*** Don't read anymore unless you wanna know...

Now, on to your question. About the only thing that came through in the movie as to how he was choosing the families, is that the wives were pretty attractive. Let's refer to the scene where he is in his house with the blind girl and he's watching the home video. They show the wife in a bikini in a pool or hottub, can't remember. In a previous video there is another wife in a bikini by a pool. Also, while he's watching the video at home, right before the blind woman goes down on him, she makes a remark... "oh" or something of that nature, so that leads me to believe he was "aroused" from just watching the wife in the bikini on the tape. So, I think there was some kind of attraction to the wives.

Anyway, the movie was pretty darn good... a little bit weird. I think there were a lot of things that could have been expanded on. In my opinion this could have been every bit of a three hour movie because the end just seemed to happen to fast.

I thought it didn't come out till next week?

Is there a special preview or something? I'm dying to see this movie.

(Ed Norton + Anthony Hopkins = unpredictable) :)
