anyone watch Louie and Legit?

I like both shows but why is it that both of them seem to be going down these dark and soul-searching paths? Are they trying to say that they can do other things than be funny?

I like Legit (big Jim Jefferies fan). I like Louis CK's stand up but never got into the show.

I'm not sure that Legit is doing soul-searching...can you give an example of the last couple of episodes? Just seems like they are using dark humor as a vehicle for delivering the comedy. A lot of his stuff in the show comes directly from his stand up, just put into a "sit-com" mode.
