It pretty much keeps it simple and easy to understand in regards to the issues the US is undergoing with China's trade war on the USA. Which China is winning so far.

No one is unscathed, democrats or republicans.

My theory is we will feel the real big pain in 30 to 40 years from now.

Brings me to its impossible to buy a US made toaster now. I found one commercial grade unit but it's completely inappropriate for home use. Where are our elected leaders on this, we know it's been going on for a long time however someone has to act.

Watched it, but you are forgetting something. Powerful people win, so there is no problem . It's the rest of us that lose, but we don't matter and never did. If we are too stupid to secure our own destiny, then we will lose at life, be it 10 of us or 300 million, it doesn't matter. Nothing wrong with the way things are setup. Someone will no doubt jump on the price, but it is in essence a custom product for a niche market segment. I would expect that quantiles of scale would bring the price down considerably.

It appears to me black friday gets pushed back a little earlier every year.

My wife and I usually eat thanksgiving lunch, rest for a couple of hours, then go to walmart to catch a black friday deal. For the past few years the lines did not start building until later in the evening.

This year my wife and I went to walmart for a couple of external hard drives and memory cards. We arrived at the store around 5:30 to find lines were already 100+ feet long.

I was rather set back at the sight of people who sacrificed thanksgiving time with their families just to save a few bucks.

To look at the lines it appears that we have become nothing more than a marketable product to wall street.

The real pain will happen in the future, what is happening now is just the looming clouds being visible from the distance, but the storm has not arrived yet.

I often wonder how my kids and grandkids will be doing in 20 years.

Germany has high labor cost, strict environmental control, and has a strong manufacturing base. I'm not saying the U.S should be like Germany, we can't, but we can improve. We need to be more informed, more educated, make the right decision. We can live up to our name sake, United States of America. Or we stock up on canned foods, ammo and AR-15, and wait for the collapse. The politicians, the wall street millionaires, the typical shoppers are all short-sighted, well the shortest way to make a buck, or to save a buck is through China ( or any country with low wage).
