anyone watch crime and punishment on NBC tonight?

so for you who didnt see it...2 people were street racing, one hit a car killing 2 and critically injuring the 3rd.

the guy who didnt hit them fled the scene

sentencing was not guilty on murder, guilty on vehicular manslaughter with gross neglegance

now the question i have is that the guy who hit the car killing them got 6 years...the guy who didnt hit them but didnt left the scene got 9 years.

is it just me or is that kinda weird?

I have always seen a trend wherby leaving the scene of the crime implies guilt.

Logically, I would say they are simply fools, and not murderers, epxecially the one who fled. The fact remains that predjudices exist in the sytem for defendants such as these.

yeah I questioned if it was murder also, and they didnt get convicted for that, i just didnt understand why the one who fled the scene of the accident got 3 years more...the only reason the other guy didnt flee was because his car was wrecked from killing 3 people
