The new 57mm Bofors autocannon is no pansey, I'd love to see those intelligent munitions at work! Still, I feel they should have an additional battery facing aft. Dedicated anti-air defense might be redundant with the abilities of the Bofors though.

Three miles? Not in those waters. They would never survive the cold. It is likely that it was towed farther out though.

I think the likelihood is extremely high that some of them will hitch a ride on floating debris.
