that has stitches written ALL over it.

almost anytime you have a flap that large will be needing stitches.

Yea head to the ER for a stitch or two. Especially since it's in an area with lots of bacteria/fungus. no need to risk an infection or whatnot

meh, I tore open my heel a while back when I stepped on a removable hard drive bay from a dell (f*ckers), prob could have used stitches, took like 2 months to heal and I had a nasty scar for a year.

Well I should tell you guys the full story

this happened three weeks ago. Initially, after writhing in pain for a few minutes, I decided an ER trip was not needed.

The next AM, I had a change of heart. I went to the local ER. It was one of the worst and most degrading experiences of my life. ERs are a last resort helath care option for immigrants and the working poor who just wait for health conditions to get so nad they need to go.

I was like F this, they wouldn't even tell me how long I coudl expect to wait. I was getting sicker just being there!

After a few calls to relatives and my insurance, I found an "urgent care" facility that took my insurance. Still pretty seedy, but they saw me in under 45 mins and I got 4 stitches. I really needed more but I kept asking, "are you SURE I'm going to need stitches?"

Main reason was to get my tetanus shot.

Bad lapse of judgement on my part because the accident happened on a Sunday night, and I missed all Monday waiting and dricing around (ouch!) and on the phone.

The big dead flap of skin JUST fell off and now the new skin with some blood still embedded just itches like crazy.

Nice story, sounds like your local ERs needs some work on customer service.

My hospital does a 29 minute guarantee that you'll see a doctor within 29 minutes...and we hit our target 98% of the time last year. Our average length of stay is only 3 hours now in the ER, thats pretty good considering before it was 6 hours+!!!!!

And yea dont itch the skin, it's just new tissue growth and healing probably altho i'd have to see a current picture(unless that one u posted is current but from your description it doesnt look like it)

Just keep a dressing on it, antibiotics and try to stay off it when you can to promote healing.
