Anyone want a dog?

Well, my sister was stupid enough to get another dog from the pound and now, after extreme disapproval from me and my brother, she has to get rid of it. Unfortunately the rescue league won't take him back. He's a little beagle only about a year old and is really small. He's not neutered so you might have to take care of him. We live in western PA if you're interested. I like the dog but we can't take a sixth dog. I feel bad for it since this may be its only chance at a decent home. We're not asking anything for him so he's all yours if you're interested.

Beagles make great family pets guys, if this is a small breed, he'd be a good house dog.

I can't have pets here otherwise I might be interested. Beagles are the best dog EVER 🙂

My sister had 6 dogs at one time too. Her and her husband do the same thing. They rescue dogs. Now they're down to 4 dogs. I can't handle that many! One or two is enough for me.

I was going to take it, but I guess I can't compete with you.

I have a question, for those dog owner here, how many hours do you stay with your dog? How many hours do you leave them alone? I heard beagle need to play, they get bored easily, if they get bored, they will keep barking. I am going to be a dog owner, I am afraid about that 'cos no one home for at least 9 hour per day during the weekday and I am sure my neighbor won't like to hear dog barking the whole day since I live in a quiet area, what is my future dog going to do in my back yard for those 9 hours?

thats so sad. you should b*tch slap your sister now. you should never take in an animal you can't keep. its just plain cruel. its all her fault. and not neutered after a year? ouch!! do it asap.

Mine are alone a little over 8 hours a night. Mine do fine alone aslong as I can get back within 9 or 10 hours max so they don't mess the floor. I have two though so they can keep each other company.

The reason I say this is because no one wants a dog around here and all the rescue leagues are packed. I guess it's the same way everywhere else too? I'm worried that if a place takes him, if they'll put him down like so many other dogs they can't handle.

Down here the pound spays/neuters 'em before they will let you take them. You also have to pay a nominal fee to adopt them... ($80-100)and are guilted to donate more.

If he is housetrained and there was a way to get 'em to FL for super cheap I might consider it... have to talk w/ Mrs. Not that it matters... I don't think there's a humane / cheap way to ship 'them. IIRC, there's a private company that will take your dog anywhere but it's Big $$$.

Most of the airlines have restrictions this time of year to bring them in luggage, because tarmac gets too hot in summer. Thus, I think you are limited to driving distance ATOT'ers.

My wife has wanted a Beagle for a while now... she mentions it everytime she sees the one on Enterprise. We haven't actually started looking at the pound for one... just talked about it. So if someone does actually know of a legit and cheap way to get it to FL I'll have to discuss w/ her.

If your gonna be gone that long you shouldnt get a dog. Unless its one of those breeds that I dont even consider a dog (pamerianian...etc) then they probably wont have a good time at home all day. Dogs are a lot of work. Thats why lazy people prefer cats.

Well, he's getting neutered today, this should calm him down and hopefully have him stop humping my old basset hound.

yes, you can get them shipped. some shipping companies will offer air freight for animals. animals are inside a cage for the duration of the flight... allowed food and water, i think... water at least.

and i dont think it's BIG $$$$... certainly a reasonable sum, but not ungodly.
