Windows:
<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="ftp://ftp.yi.se/pub/software/equake/eQuake/Windows/equake-installer-1.01b557-win.exe">ftp://ftp.yi.se/pub/software/equake/....../equake-installer-1.01b557-win.exe</a>

Linux:
<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="ftp://ftp.yi.se/pub/software/equake/eQuake/Linux/equake-linux-1.01b557.tar.gz">ftp://ftp.yi.se/pub/software/equake/eQu...Linux/equake-linux-1.01b557.tar.gz</a>

Installation: Run the .exe, install, run Quake with fqstart.exe, set any specifications you want (I use default) and then Start it. To bind weapons, type "\bind (key) "Impulse X"" where X stands for which gun it is. Pressing 7 on your keyboard pulls out the Rocket Launcher, so Impulse 7 would change gun to a Rocket Launcher. If this doesn't make sense, just ask.

The package is ~79mb each. It comes with Quake 1, FuhQuake (mod used to enhance the 9 year old graphics), commonly played maps (dm2, dm4, dm6, ztndm3, aerowalk), All-Seeing Eye installer (program used to search for servers for any game imaginable), a pretty good Quake 1 config, and more.

The two servers I play on frequently are:
connect 66.36.240.162:27502
connect 66.36.240.162:27503

My username is Kr33p.

PM me for a match if you're feeling 1337 :F

yeah, the singleplayer game itself is freeware, but you can play online with just the shareware + FuhQuake.

+hook would only be enabled on noob servers...

:)

The id1 folder should be in your quake install folder. For example /quake/id1/

I just realized what I downloaded was a patch, not the actual game. I don't have the shareware or retail version of quake, so I can't play it.

Does anyone still sell the game for Mac?

Try eBay or Amazon, Lucifer.

We gotta get some more people from AT playing, so we can have some 2v2s/4v4s, naw mean? The game's kind of rough in the beginning but you start picking it up pretty quick. Don't get discouraged if a guy named Dan comes in and pwns you 40 to -2 :|

I tried connecting and the 1st server (27502) was full, and the 2nd one (27503) was empty. :(

You don't need the mac specific version of the game. The PC version will work just fine. Even the PC shareware version will work, though you will have to install DOSBOX to run the installer.exe to uncompress the files and get access to the id1 folder. Either that, or install it on a PC and copy the folder over onto your mac. Either way works fine.

The OP provided a link to download an exe. Can I install that exe file on my PC, and just take the id1 folder from it after it decompresses the files? Or do I need to find the shareware version?
