Anyone wanna let me borrow Dragon Age: Origins?

Kabob

Lifer
If this is a no-no lock it Queasy.

I've been wanting to play DAO for a while now but I can never seem to find it (and I'd hate to buy it). Wondering if anyone has it for the 360 and would mind loaning it to me? I can let you borrow a game in return, or if not, I'll pay shipping both ways.

Anyone?

Why would you hate to buy it? I'm sure you can find it for cheap soon since the sequel is coming out. It's never a bad thing to support the develop if they make a good product. If your willing to pay for shipping, I'm sure you can afford the 20-30 dollars it will be. It's worth the money.

I'll trade you a copy if you want. I use swap.com a lot to trade games I'm not playing anymore for new ones. Great site to get some more milage out of a game you aren't gonna play anymore.

I don't understand people being so upset about him wanting to just try the game out. Remember being able to rent games before you bought them? Yeah, can't do that anymore...

If I had it, I'd lend it to you. Sadly, I do not.

Been busy all day. Figured this would be about the landscape of replies. A few "why don't you buy it and support the dev!" (buying it used doesn't support the dev either...), and a few helpful replies.

+1 Smackababy, the only Blockbuster near my closed probably 6 months ago and Movie Gallery is history, they got steamrolled by Netflix and Redbox. I don't want to own the game, I want to play through it once and I'll probably be done with it.

Dark Jedi, I'll PM ya in a lil' while.

what does you wanting to play a game without paying for it have to do with "console gaming" ?

imagine how fascinating a forum would be if everyone posted all the things they could think of asking other people to do for them..

Considering he is asking to borrow a console game in the sub forum a bunch of console gamers (and a few disgruntled pc gamer trolls >_>) read, I don't see where else it would go.

No, he doesn't want to just "try it out". He wants to play it. Besides playing it, there's nothing else you can do with it. What he's trying to do is play a game without paying for it.

I have no problem with borrowing games but don't try to argue that it's really any different than downloading.

It is extremely different than downloading. In order to borrow a game, a sale had to have been made. Letting a friend borrow a game is potentially one maybe two sales lost, whereas pirating is potentially thousands of sales lost. What happens if he buys it and hates it? He can't return it for a refund... He can get a horrible trade in value for it and just lose money.

Borrowing a game is no different than renting a game, which is completely legal and not piracy.

Your right. I think there are different feelings flowing through this thread. I personally have no problem with people lending or renting games...I do have a problem with companies who sell used games (like gamestop), but that is another conversation.

I think this thread got sidetracked due to the fact that the OP said he would pay for shipping in order to borrow the game from someone he didn't know in order to not buy it, possibly without realizing the game could be had brand new for not much more than he/she would have paid for the shipping in the first place, thus the reasoning that a couple of us put forward that if they are going to pay for shipping, just buy the game outright and support the develop at the same time.

Let's not make this bigger than it really is... 😛

Screw them.

Do what I do. Buy it used, sell it when you finish. Sure, you may be out a bit of money, but if you were to borrow the game you would be out shipping costs anyways. The game seems to be pretty cheap used.

Another thing I did a couple of times was get the Gamefly trial, rent a game, play the game, then return it before the trial ends. But usually the trials are a week or 2, maybe not enough to finish a game depending on how much time you have. They usually offer a cheap first month, like $7 or so, in addition to the trial period. Figure shipping costs to borrow are probably around $6 round trip, seems like a good deal.

It is a good game. My only gripes about it really is that I feel I must replay it in order to try other party combos, paths, classes, items, choices. Really it is worth the money and get the ultimate edition, comes with all the DLCs on the disc. I just wish I had more time to play.

Some of the cut scenes are long, but you get to interact with it, so it is more involved. I am a first time PS3 owner and got the game, so I feel sometimes as if should have an online option, but that is just my PC side talking.

like no one here has ever borrowed a game from a friend🙄.
whats next, going to your friends and play a game be considered piracy too?😵

Remember being able to rent games before you bought them? Yeah, can't do that anymore...

do what?? i rent PS3 games all the time and they have tons of 360 games too..all kinds of rental places out there, you must live in a very small town out in the desert.

I didn't say borrowing games was the same as thousands of people pirating a game, I said it was more or less the same as 1 person downloading it. If you uploaded a game and only 1 person downloaded it, you'd still be a pirate.

Not liking something you buy is a risk you take every time you buy something. That doesn't mean you should get it for free.

I should also say again, that I don't actually have any problem with borrowing games, I do it all the time.
