My wife frequents a forum at PinchingYourPennies.com, and they were just recently featured in a local newscast. They're already getting a ton of new visitors, but I was wondering if any of you would drop in if you're totally, extremely bored and help them break some of their forum records or whatever.

Bring it!

Sorry that isn't a stress test. That's called spamming a website to try and get more traffic. No one cares or wants to go to that site. Thank you.

I also find it ethically dubious to try to bring a site down in this manner unless the owner has specifically requested it. There are tools to do this already, and doing what amounts to a denial of service attack against a live site is not a great idea.

There seems to have been a slight problem with the database.

The whole 'stress test' was tongue-in-cheek. Last I checked, they are up ~2,000 members in 2 days, and their number of a active users (both members and guests) has jumped to ~1,400 from their previous all-time high of 1,250.

And it's not like all ~150 of you who have viewed this thread have caused that much of a difference, even if you all actually loaded the page.

So, some coupon moms get a warm fuzzy feeling because they're finally getting some exposure. So what?
