To clear things up, it's not mine (Thank god). I was looking for the 19" sport package rims and came across what left of that one. :( Damn shame.

Ugh... paid too much (sticker price) but I just had to have it. Came up a little shory so I have a $10,000 loan for the next three years. Only option I didn't get was the sport package since I didn't like the stiffer suspension, sport seats, and sports steering wheel. The rims are nice and I want to snag a set.

Were you nearly run over in Boston/Cambridge bBiggie?

The numbers still scare the crap out of me. Around 60K after taxes etc for the X and nearly 80K for the M.

You dropped $50k cash on an X5? I'm sure that's correct since you get it cost ~$60k and you have a loan for 3 years on $10k.

Even if you have a sh1te load of cash around, why didn't you invest it? Throwing $50k into a depreciating asset when you could have leased the vehicle, saved on payment, invested your $50k and the extra you save per month, you would have been able to get a return that far exceeds the decrease in interest from only having a $10k loan.

my $.02

By any chance do you remember the plate on that M5? Was it silver?

It might have been my friend's dad's (he isn't exactly a careful driver).:Q

:)

Frost, I'm crazy, not stupid. If I had $50K in cash to toss around it would be a down payment on a nice house. Unfortunatly, I don't know if I want to stay in Massachusetts. My cash outlay wasn't much. I saved and invested almost every penny from when I started working around age 12. Most summers I worked two jobs. A lot was technical but much of it was good old fashioned manual labor. Went without a car freshman year in college and worked two jobs that summer. Saved enough to buy a nice truck and financed about 10K of it too. Got a few nice bonus checks for exceeding performance targets and streching the budget. I worked hard so now it's time to play hard. Finally decided to traded the last ride and got the current ride.

Biggie any car that has suffered a major accident like that is never the same again. I think since it was declared a scrap vehicle, BMW North America no longer provides a warranty or benefits like free scheduled maintainance for 3y/36k miles.
