Anyone w/ SAS on a P35 board

I'm building a new system here in the next week or two and I have access to a number of Fujitsu 15K SAS drives. I can get a LSI 3808 SAS controller for about the price of a Velociraptor so I might as well go the SAS route and totally trick the rig out.

So my question is this: Is anyone running a SAS (or SCSI for that matter) on a P35 board? I'm planning on dropping the controller in the 2nd X16 PCI-E slot (the one that really runs at x4). Anyone with any experience with these on enthusiast class boards? If so what board are you running on? Maybe a 780i instead?

Thanks in advance for any insight.

ps Just for reference it's going to be paired with a E8400 running Vista x64. Not planning on running X-fire (especially since I have a Nvidia card. lol).. ever.

What controller are you using? I cant find that model on their site. I cant see a problem with that setup, just as long as there are vista x64 drivers for it. Im actually thinking of going this route too.

It should work in the other X16 slot even if it's X4 electrical. I've used various 8X Areca controllers (1231, 1261, 1281ML (SATA) and 1680, 1680ix (SAS) hosts in various boards from 975X to X48 based with no real issues.
