[blog] So recently I've been kind of 'floating' in college - I realized I really don't want to go into IT or software, which has always been my plan, and I've just been taking random classes looking for something I like. I've been reading a lot of Bill Bryson recently, and I read his African Journal book a couple days ago, which lead me to care.org, and I really think that doing aid work might be right for me. So far I've been looking mainly at Cross Cultural Solutions and their African programs look like what I'd want to do. There's the added bonus of getting some college credit for some of the intern programs as well. I'm interested in teaching and community/social improvements, but I wouldn't be adverse to doing physical work.
I'm hoping some people here have some firsthand (or secondhand) experience with volunteer / intern programs, or at least could offer me more than google.
