Anyone vacationed/honeymooned in the Bahamas?

Hey all,

Looking at planning a honeymoon in the Bahamas a year or so from now. We've looked at a few other islands/locations, however this just seems to work best with our current location and travel times (going back north for actual wedding, then back south to our home, then off to wherever).

I was just wondering if anyone had been there recently and had any words of advice, or experiences they'd like to share. We're leaning heavily towards Sandals at this point, although Atlantis looked interesting but Superclubs looked horrible....


So, anyone have any info about Sandals/Atlantis, or just the Bahamas in general?

I had a great time when I went. Some friends and I took a small cruise ship from Florida over to Port Lucaya for a few days and it was really great, the beaches were amazing and the snorkeling was a lot of fun. We booked without doing a package deal, set it up ourselves, and were fine. I'd love to go back - everything here in DC is closing right because of ice and those beaches sound amazing, and i've actually been thinking about it. If you're looking for travel advice i'd check out the forums at lonely planet - they are very helpful, and if you're looking for info on the bahamas specifically i'd check this site: bahamavention its very good and also really funny - they're doing commercials right now that are funny too.
