Anyone using Webwasher (ad blocker, privacy protector) for IE?

I'm thinking of trying this software (the new version 2.2). Anyone regularly use it? I'm mostly concerned about system stability after a product like this gets installed.

Internet security under generic IE 5.01 is just too hard to manage. I generally use High Security mode but thanks to the brilliant minds at M$ advertisements and pages from servers I don't explicitly authorize always give me, "An ActiveX control on this page is not safe. Your current security settings prohibit running unsafe controls on this page. As a result, this page may not display properly."

What's totally lame is that the page does indeed display properly every time!! Maybe IE 5.5 gets rid of this lame message box? Still Webwasher might be a better option.

I have Webwasher at work and it works really well... had to install it because the damn ad servers here prevented me from browsing the forums... :) I'm running Win2K...

That's one of the problems I'm having, too. I can give forumsX.anandtech.com full ActiveX/Java/Cookie power but the damn ads still cause problems. :disgust:

I installed Webwasher. So far so good. System resources dropped 12% but I think I can reclaim them after I shutdown IE and WW. First observation: AT forum pages load much faster!
