Anyone using Turbo Linux 6.0 Server Lite as crack rack?

First is it possible with this version? I just got a free copy and wanted to know.

[EDIT]

When I say copy I don't mean burn, CD-R, it's a OEM version which I got free (of course).

What do you mean when you say "Server"?

If you mean serving the "Rack" with their file system, and setting up the Nodes with their work load, yes I'm sure it'll work.
Any version of Linux I believe is capable of serving diskless clients.
Unless it's a Workstation version?!? I don't know for sure, somebody else might chime in here and say.
Even if it is a "Workstation" version, I'm sure you could download and install everything that's needed.

If you are thinking of setting up Diskless boot over the network, and have no Linux experience, you're in for a steep learning curve.

If all you want is the "Rack" to get it's client blocks, and be able to flush/fetch it's buffers, then any OS (even Win95) that has a Dnet PProxy will work as the "Server".

Yeah, it's the server lite version of Turbo Linux 6.0, can it run similar to Klinux, running has a diskless node?

Yeah, I guess that's what I'm trying to do, sounds scary!

HeHe. This reminds me of a funny, yet sad story. One of my customers who has cable modem added a third system (all 'puters Windows) at their house, so they bought a Linksys switch which came with Turbo Linux. They couldn't get the switch to work, so they figured, HMM...maybe the switch needs drivers. Oh, look here's a CD in with the switch!

Popped it in the CD ROM drive, booted up the system, and the rest is history...literally.

TurboLinux, as well as any other distribution, should work fine as a crack rack server. If you're going to be doing boots over the network it's hard to say for certain what you'll need. If you'll just be feeding them blocks, all you need is the dnet pproxy.
