Hi all.

Where i'm working we have a Promise Octet Station which used to be used for cloning onto up to 8 hard drives, but with the drives getting bigger it is starting to take a real long time to do it. The smallest HDD we sell now is a 40gb, and it used to take 30 mins to do 4gb, so as you can imagine a 40gb would take ages, possibly longer than doing it all manually!

We were wondering if there are any updates or whatever to it to make it faster and/or to be able to use bigger hard drives (biggest used so far is about 10gb)

Thanks in advance

I seriously doubt it, as the duplicator copies the drives sector by sector, and the larger the drive, the longer the copy.
I have experience with both the octet and a unit from Corporate Systems, and it simply takes a long time..

Even the much more expensive Logicube 8 disk unit takes the same amount of time.

*I* would look into using multiple IDE cards and Norton Ghost. With many command line options, you may be able to drastically reduce your cloning time.
