I order one and it has Ethernet, usb and paralle port and I need to know which one is the best choice since I already have 2 comp network together already. Does the performance decrease if I use the paralle port? I know the ethernet port is probably the fastest port. Thx for the help.

I have Telocity SDSL 784/784 (depens on your area service)
Using ethernet only+Linksys router with 3 PCs - no problems.

Don't think about parallel port, buy cheap NIC less than $10 for 10/100 (need only 10MB for WAN)
USB takes some CPU power and usually slows system.

I heard Telocity shipping new modem version without parallel port at all.

I had Telocity. Their customer service was absolutly HORRibLE!!!!!!!!!! my reviews are on dslreports.com under noxipad. I'm on Mindspring (from covad) now and the uptime is, well, all the time. compared to telocity (from rhythms) which was done most of the day everyday.

Oh if you want to use ethernet and have both computers get access to the net, you will need an extra NIC card (2 installed) running NAT software or buy a DSL router/hub. router/hub is easier and more secure, but of course costs more.

You are absolutely correct: support was absolutely terrible til mid of August.
Waiting time was 40min-1.5 hours.
In August they changed somthing and now person picks the phone right away. Difference is amazing. Most of technical problems and outages are gone too.
I am glad I did not cancel my service in July... No contract is very important.
